Lot Essay

The present matched pair of obelisks are from a class of wares almost always found in pairs, with AK marks and decorated in the Chinese taste. Cf. Jacob Stodel, The Splendour of Delftware, Exhibition Catalogue, London, 1993, no. 19 for a similar pair.
