Imperial Tokay, Mid Eighteenth Century
An extremely rare sealed 'mallet'-shaped bottle (approx 50cl) believed to date from the mid 18th Century. The bottle bears the seal of the Royal Saxon wine-cellar - a shield with crossed swords surmounted by the inscription 'Hoffkellerie'. The bottle has a short tapering neck, string rim, and flat base and is similar to a collection of bottles sold by the wine department in November 1968. The bottle is around 15cms. high and is half-full
