A French silver-gilt seven-piece table garniture
Maker's mark of Jean-Claude-Baptiste Odiot, Paris, 1798-1809, the largest vase 1809-1819 and with later stand
Comprising:
A large two handled partly fluted vase on stand, the circular vase on spreading foot with water-leaves and dart border, the stem flat chased with a band of vertical palm-leaves and foliage, the upper part of the bowl with applied bacchic masks within wreaths and winged cherubs riding hippocamps on matted panels at intervals, the rising handles formed as mermaids supporting bullrushes, the rim with applied reclining male and female figures holding goblets and bunches of grapes, engraved with crest, the later stand on four paw and foliage feet, the border cast and chased with foliage on matting, the upper part similarly applied to the vase and engraved with similar crest, marked on base of vase

Three similar two-handled smaller vases on stands, the vases on spreading foot with wreath border, each with corded knop to the stem, the upper part of the bowl with applied masks of Mercury and vacant wreaths at intervals on plain ground, the handles each formed as winged putto standing on a foliage scroll bracket, the borders with similar applied reclining figures, the stands each on four foliage paw feet, with anthemion foliage band above and similar applied alternating masks of Mercury and wreaths, engraved on vases and stands with a crest, marked bases, bodies and stems, the stands also stamped J.B.TE C.DE ODIOT

Three shaped circular bowls, the plain sides with applied masks of Mercury alternating with wreaths on matted ground at intervals, the rim similar applied reclining figures, two bowls engraved with a crest, marked on bases, 9in. (24cm.) diam.
