Lot Essay

In a letter dated December 15, 1998, Dott. Dario Succi Confrims that the present lot is a version by Francesco Albotto of the painting in the Museo e Gallerie Nazionale di Capodimonte, Naples (see D. Succi, Marieschi, tra Canaletto e Guardi, 1989, p. 192, fig. 234). He dates the painting to circa 1745-48.
