The present work can be added to a group of paintings once thought to be by Francesco Tironi but now generally recognized as by the Master of the Langmatt Foundation Views. These include a pair of paintings, whose attribution to the Circle of Francesco Tironi was proposed by W.G. Constable in 1863, which sold at Christie's, London, April 18, 1997, lot 123 (45,000=$73,350) and another which sold at Christie's, New York, October 16, 1997, lot 102 ($34,500).
