A version of this composition was published by C.H. de Jonghe, Paulus Moreelse, 1938, p. 116, no. 242, as signed and dated 1620. Though no signature remains today it is possible that the present work can be identified with that painting and that the provenance cited may be associated with this work: Henriette Catherina von Anhalt; Duchess von Nassau-Dietz; Princess Henriette Agnes von Anhalt; Princess Anne Wilhelmina; Duchess Radziwill.
