with the crowned inventory number 636 on a label on the stretcher and with the inventory numbers 4677 (in blue) and 1514 (in red) on the stretcher and with a label erroneously identifying the sitter as Karl Ludwig, Duke of Württemberg (sic!) (+1736) on the reverse

Lot Essay
The inscription on the label on the stretcher can not be correct, since no record of a Carl Ludwig of Württemberg of circa 1736 exists. For information on the sitter see the following lot.
