Lot Essay

Admiral Sir James Scott (1790?-1872), son of Sir Thomas Scott, entered the Navy in August 1803 and had a distinguished career. He married in 1819 Caroline Anne, only child of Richard Donovan of Tibberton Court, Gloucester. He had a son. He died at Cheltenham 2 March 1872.
