A LOUIS XV AUBUSSON PASTORAL TAPESTRY
Woven in wools and silks, in the foreground with a courtly man persuing a young maiden in blue dress, to the right with a seated lady and before her with a child, flanked to each side by trees and the background with a river landscape with a tree and a townscape beyond, within a foliate and floral column border and a later yellow and blue outer slip, areas of reweaving and patching particularly to the outer edges of the border with segments with colour hightlights, probably reduced in size and with vertical cut behind the child
