THREE PAIRS OF FRENCH CHAIR BACKS AND SEATS
Circa 1780, Lyon, designed by Phillipe de Lasalle
Woven in coloured silks against an ivory ground, the backs with pairs of doves, the seats with a dog hunting birds, within a border of carnations, roses and other flowers, the outer frame with trailing small scale roses, with another matching seat panel
The seats, 29 in. x 28 in. (74 cm. x 71 cm.); the backs 22 in. x 24 in. (56 cm. x 61 cm.);
and a simlar panel woven with a repeat of lambs and naturalistic sprays of roses in coloured silks and chenille, all with some wear and damage 21 in. x 60 in. (54 cm. x 152 cm.)
