Lot Essay

Another panel of this silk is held by the Victoria & Albert Museum under Reference T.32-1988. Ursual Sjoberg, Associate Curator of the Royal Collection in Stockholm has noted that this silk was woven by Jean Pierre Mazer, active in Stockholm between 1796 and c.1820. This attribution is indicated by the initials IPM41 woven in red in their panel.
