Lot Essay

The attribution of the production of this piece varies between the factories at Nantes and Bordeaux. It was manufactured by the Petitpierre frres. A painting by Boucher, presented to the Salon in 1748 and engraved by Gaillard, had a similar composition and could be the basis for the design.
