TWO JOINED LENGTHS OF FRENCH GREEN SILK
Possibly mid-18th Century
Woven and brocaded in metal threads and coloured silks with meandering ribbon trails composed of diamonds interspersed with stylised foliate and exotic floral sprays, with a shadow flush pattern in the ground,
41 in. x 38 in. (104 cm. x 97 cm.);
and another woven with scrolls and flourishes, with stylised floral trails against a cloth of gold ground, joined, slight wear and staining
19 in. x 40 in. (50 cm. x 102 cm.) (2)

The first pieces are said to be from the collection of Mrs Greville, Polesden Lacey.
