A FLEMISH PASTORAL TAPESTRY
Late 17th early 18th Century
Woven in wools and silks, depicting to the centre a dancing peasant couple, before them a seated recorder player and to the background with two goats, set within a wooded landscape with a stream and two swans on it, the distance with buildings and a hilly landscape beyond, within a later green outer slip, cut and reattached vertically in the main field and with patches to the right side, reweaving and patching
5 ft. 2 in. x 8 ft. 10 in. (157 cm. x 268 cm.)
