of footed ovoid form, the wrought-iron frame cast with two handles formed as stylised peacocks, their tails interlinking to form openwork frame with stylised foliate motifs and oval banding, with later mould-blown blue glass body decorated with scattered gilt foil inclusions, the metal marked 'Chapelle Nancy'

Inspired by Daum, who the 1930s in association with Majorelle or Edgar Brandt, produced a range of glass vessels blown into wrought-iron armatures, Chapelle designed a range of stylised animals with wrought-iron frames and mould-blown glass bodies by Muller Freres.
