This work was originally given to the organisers of the Association Pour le Progrs Intellectuel et Artistique de la Wallonie (A. P. I. A. W.), as a sign of gratitude for the first exhibition of Serge Poliakoff's work in a government venue. The exhibition was mounted in the Palais de l' Emulation, Lige in 1953.
