A finely engineered 1/5 scale museum display quality model of the 10nhp Atkinson Patent Cycle single cylinder gas engine originally built by The British Gas Engineering Co. Ltd
and modelled by A. Walshaw No.488 with waterjacketed inclined cylinder 2.3/8in. bore x 6in. stroke, barrelled connecting rod with marine type big end bearing connected to radial links mounted on a shaft fixed at the top of the frame, in turn connected to the crankshaft by a drop link, the crankshaft with two bearings supported in the frames with separate cam and lever operated inlet and exhaust valve and make and break, twin curved spoked flywheels, hot tube and spark ignition systems, gas pipework, regulator and valve and other details, the whole finished in green with white lining, red and polished brightwork, and mounted on a wooden bed on simulated terracotta and white tiled floor with hand railings -- 26 x 31in. (66 x 80cm.) Display base.
