Circular, on four bracket feet, with beaded rim, the field engraved with bright-cut border centering a coat-of-arms beneath a Duke's coronet, marked on reverse

Lot Essay

The rare duty draw-back mark was struck on exported plate for only seven months, between the dates of December 1, 1784 and July 24, 1785 (see detail).

The arms are those of the Dukes of Montrose.
