NORTH EAST PERSIA, 10TH CENTURY
One of angled rounded form with inverted rim on short foot, the white interior painted with the large figure of a stylised bird, its beak and wing extending into long arabesques, a band of comma-motifs around the outside of the rim, repaired with slight restoration, the other of rounded form on short foot, the interior painted in manganese black and green with a bold deer surmounted by a bird on a bright yellow ground, in a black border of reserved stylised kufic, the exterior with radiating coloured panels, repaired clean breaks
