Each with slightly dished serpentine top with ribbed edge above a clustered fluted columnar stem, on arched tripod legs with foliate-carved knees and foliate dolphin-form feet

Lot Essay

These tables follow a design in Gillow's Estimate Sketch Books for a 'Rosewood Flower Stand with double round corner top Job No 3170 for Ferguson & Co July 1822, cost 2.12/-.4 1/4 d'. A pair of mahogany examples also attributed to the firm were sold from Thoresby Hall, Neward, Nottinghampshire, Sotheby's house sale, 31 May 1989, lot 179.
