The rectangular off-white and pale grey mottled marble top raised on a pedestal plaster base modelled to simulate twisting jagged rocks, the whole set on a rectangular plinth

Lot Essay

This console was purchased in 1927 for a country house in Touraine and the white stone of the region - Tuffaut- may have played a part in the inspiration for the design.
