An Hispano-Moresque copper-lustre dish
Valencia, early 16th Century
The central raised boss painted with a sunburst, the well with four radiating patterned bands alternating with ropetwists on a ground of scrolling foliage, the rim with four further radiating patterned bands on a ground of flowerheads and foliage and with curved semicircular rope-twist borders, pierced for suspension (one rim chip restuck, other rim chips to underside, cracked and worn)
