Lot Essay

Although he rarely exhibited and only showed two works at the British Institution, Cam Norton in later life had many patrons in the north of England. He lived in Newmarket, and painted horses such as Fortissimo, winner of the Goodwood Stakes in 1882, with G. Fordham up.
