FONTANA, Jacopo. Ancona. Ancona: Rinier da Prato, 3 March 1569. Engraved bird's-eye plan on two median sheets joined, 428 x 676mm.Dedication set in cartouche, legend, compass rose, galleons and ships. (Trimmed to image left and right, some surface dirt.) This plan was later used by Braun & Hogenberg (Tooley Dictionary of Mapmakers); Tooley 106, recording ten other copies; watermark Woodward 225.
CRIPI, Giambattista. La fedelissima citta di Gallipoli. Rome: Nicholas van Aelst, [not before 1 January 1591 (date of dedication)]. Engraved bird's-eye view of Gallipoli on a single Royal sheet, overall 412 x 538mm (engraving 392 x 525mm). (Left-hand edge lightly inked and trimmed to plate mark.) Watermark is similar to Woodward 104.
