With a moulded overhanging circular rim, the bowl flanked by four two-snake handles, each surmounting a bearded man's mask, on a spreading circular socle, on a stepped square plinth

Lot Essay

This design relates directly to J M Blashfield's 'Tazza from the Antique, No 194' from the firm's catalogue published in 1857. Although the tazza is not signed, the colour and design would support an attribution to that of J.M. Blashfield
