A RARE KAKIEMON SIXTEEN-SIDED VASE
Edo Period (Late 17th Century)
Decorated in iron-red, blue, turquoise and black enamels with a continuous band of long-tailed birds flying over sprays of hibiscus growing from rocks, the shoulder with cherry blossom among scrolling karakusa, the short neck with a band of lappets, some old wear and rubbing to the enamels
