A TWO-TIERED GOLD LACQUER BOX AND COVER CONTAINING SMALLER BOXES
Meiji Period (Late 19th Century)
Decorated in gold lacquer and foil on a gold ground with a waterfall by thatched houses among blossoming cherries and pine, the inner tray similarly decorated, the upper box containing four smaller boxes decorated with flowers and plants such as lilies and cherries, the sides similarly decorated with thatched houses by a stream, black lacquer wood box
