The fourty-eight plate russet iron ridged bowl, with wider plates on four sides each overlaid with iron shino dare and iron igaki at the base, an iron thehen kanamono and kasajirushi no kan, signed jo shu no ju Saotome Iyuenari, five lame leather ichimanju jikoro, gold lacquered mon on the fukigayeshi lacquered wood forecrest of a demon and flames associated; russet iron ryubu men [mask] finely forged with hair moustache signed Ichiguchi Yoshikata, iron itamono yodarekake (throat guard); the cuirass (do) of five sections of horizontal iron plates the top two plates at the front laced, leather tassets, shoulder guards of medium size [chu sode] tapered towards the bottom, sleeves with slim shaped plates on the fore arms [shino gote], the upper arms with rectangular plates, the larger centre one embossed with two gilded bonji characters, matching shin guards, thigh guards of small leather plates [kawara haidate] together with a pair of fur boots and tasselled banner, the whole armour lacquered red and laced with pale blue spaced lacing and mounted on dark blue hemp cloth

The Ichiguchi were a branch of the Myochin family. The mon is probably that of the Shinagawa, a Samurai family of the Yamaguchi clan.
