etching, 1654, first state (of two), before the additional shading at the upper edge, a fine impression, with a pale band of tone in the shadow at top and bottom, watermark Foolscap, with thread margins or trimmed on or fractionally within the platemark, one or two tiny nicks at the upper left and right sheet edges, two pinholes, some very pale staining at the lower left sheet edge and in the centre, otherwise in good condition
