Lot Essay

Among all the Ku Klux Klan members Andres Serrano portrayed during his trip to Georgia in 1990, 'Grand Klaliff' was the only woman. "She) was so poor, she did not have a telephone. In order to pose, she had to obtain permission from her father because he was her KKK superior." (R. Hobbs, in 'Andres Serrano, Works 1983-1993', Philadelphia 1994, pp. 38-39.)
