Lot Essay

Probably part of the album Sole figure per soffitti sold in these Rooms in 1914 and broken by the dealer Parsons. The album contained 170 sheets now widespread in public and private collection. A drawing from this series was illustrated by B. Aikema in the exhibition catalogue Tiepolo and His Circle, New York, The Pierpont Morgan Library and elsewhere, 1997, lot 87, illustrated.
