Two other drawings by Hackert of Lake Agnano, also of 1782, are in Goethe's collection at Weimar, C. Nordhoff and H. Reimer, op. cit., nos. 800-1, figs. 390-1. Hackert executed two further undated drawings of Lake Agnano and one of Persano, all now in the Kupferstichkabinett, Berlin, C. Nordhoff and H. Reimer, op. cit., nos. 1016-7.
Lake Agnano is between Naples and Pozzuoli, near the Solfatara.
