Studies of four figures, three standing and one seated pointing to the left, with a study of a bead and reel frieze

The drawing is datable to the years 1765-1770. The small architectural detail on the left of the Normand drawing is probably by a member of Piranesi's family and is comparable to that on a drawing from the David Daniels collection. The sketches of columns on the verso of the drawing resemble the Design for Mantlepiece in the Pierpont Morgan Library, New York, F. Stampfle, Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Drawings in the Pierpont Morgan Library, New York, 1978, no. 85. The New York drawing is related to Piranesi's series of prints Diverse maniere d'adornare i camini published in 1769.
