Lot Essay

Engraved around 1610 by Bolswert as a pair with a Venus and Cupid M. Rthlisberger, Abraham Bloemaert and his Sons, Ghent, 1993, no. 120, fig. 205. Together with these two plates Bolswert published another plate of a slightly freer technique representing Juno. Two sketchier drawings of Minerva are in Caen (Revue du Louvre, 1976, p. 337, illustrated) and Dsseldorf (Meisterzeichnungen der Slg. L. Krahe, 1970, no. 141).
