The moulded serpentine top, above a fitted drawer with slide, compartments and two interior mahogany-lined drawers, above three graduated long drawers flanked by cluster-column angles, the sides with carrying-handles, on shaped bracket feet with brass and leather sunk castors, lacking one carrying-handle

Lot Essay

A related serpentine commode with triple cluster-column angles, was sold by Mrs. Nora Prince-Littler and the late Prince Littler, C.B.E., Chestham Park, Henfield, Sussex, Christie's house sale, 18 April 1977, lot 201. Another similar commode was sold by Miss Daphne and J.C. Ionides, in these Rooms, 4 May 1950, lot 81.
