Johann Heitz (fl. Berlin 1702-1737) was appointed court ornamental turner and musical instrument maker in 1710 and supplied recorders to the Munich court around 1719-21. It is documented that he made fifteen treble (alto) recorders of which ten are of boxwood with tortoiseshell veneer.
