The first with blackened double-edged blade with single fuller on each side, the ricasso struck with two profile Negro-heads, the hilt comprising engraved forward curved quillons, small side-ring and pommel, and wire-bound wooden grip; the second with head and shaft of one piece, the latter forming the barrel, with serpentine and covered pan in front of the chequered grip
