Partly circa 1550-60
Of bright steel, comprising close-helmet with one-piece skull with low roped comb, bevor, single neck-plate to front and rear (rear plate replaced), and later bellows visor, the bevor and visor pivoted at the same points on each side, gorget, cuirass with boxed breast-plate with strong central point, bold roped flange at the neck, and similarly flanged moveable gussets, later hinged lance-rest, boxed back-plate en suite, two-piece skirt with tassets, later pauldrons with haute-pieces, complete vambraces, mitten guantlets (one thumb-defence missing), and legharness with sabatons, the breast-plate etched with a later scene showing a knight praying before a crucifix, and with the spurious date 1575
