The first with sighted barrel struck with a barrelsmith's mark at the breech, signed flat bevelled lock (signature worn, cock associated, top jaw and screw replaced), varnished walnut three-quarter stock (minor dents and chips, fore-end repaired), full brass mounts, and iron ramrod (iron parts pitted), London proof marks; the second with sighted barrel retained by numerous brass bands and an engraved silver band, the breech struck with spurious proof marks (lock mechanism defective)
