In recent years many diamonds have been ascribed to "Golconda" when in fact they are a type IIa stone. While it is, of course, very hard to say categorically that a particular diamond comes from a defined region, Golconda stones tend to be shallow crystals often with a pinkish tinge. This particular 20.83 carat diamond possesses both these attributes as well as displaying the innate purity and wonderful transparency that is always associated with these very special diamonds.
