The first two items in the above lot commemorated the Coronation of King Haakon VII and Queen Maud, the first King and Queen to be crowned after Norway gained independance from Sweden in 1905.

initialled MH above VII named for and dated 22 Juni 1906, printed mark -- 23.5cm. diam.; and a Norwegian porcelain beaker, printed with a double portrait between Norwegian flags, named for Trondhiem and dated 22 Juni 1906, printed mark, both circa 1906; and a Bavarian porcelain plate, printed with a quarter-length portrait of Kaiser Wilhelm
