A detailed static display model of the America's Cup Yacht America, 1851
With masts, booms, standing and running rigging and full suit of stitched linen sails, bitts, anchors, belaying rails and pins, deck rings, cleats, deck lights, companionways, capstan, aft round cockpit with tiller and other details. The hull, with simulated copper plating to the waterline, is finished in black and varnish with dinghyin davits and mounted on two twined brass columns -- 26 x 35in. (67.3 x 89cm.)
