A late 19th Century mahogany and oak planked model steam launch 'Columbia'
the hull with screwed mahogany lagging, oak framing and bottom boards, single shaft with 'A' brackets, rudder and propellor and removable saloon with sliding cellophane windows with mahogany frames and white painted coach roof. The partially complete power plant comprises a spirit-fired pot boiler with some fittings, single cylinder vertical engine approx. in. bore x 1in. stroke with disc crank, displacement lubricator, disc flywheel and flexible shaft coupling, finished in pale blue, white and natural wood.
