Rene Francois Armand Sully-Prudhomme (1839-1907) first published this poem in Stances et Poemes in 1865: "La vase on muert cette verveine
D'un coup d'eventail fut fete"
The Catholic poet, Armand Prudhomme changed his name lest he be mistaken for the caricaturist Henri Monnier's prudent bourgeois Joseph Prudhomme. The poem is also found in a fair copy in a letter of 1881 to Stfan Zweig in the British Library (Zweig 190)
Hennegrave was an artist decouper at Andeville. He never advertised Usine a Vapeur
