A French Louis XIV carved and gilded frame,
with graduated dentils and concave recess to the outer edge; the raised corners of the ogee with anthemia on cross-hatched ground with C scrolls and strap-work, flanked by further scrolling, strap-work and flower heads; the centres with bell-flowers, also on a cross-hatched ground; recessed sanded band; running foliate foliate course to the sight edge -- 49.1/8 x 38.1/8 x 6.1/8in. (124.8 x 96.75 x 15.5cm.)
Rebacked and with some restorations.
