Discussing a commission of a castle in a landscape scene. Responding to Manning's compositional suggestion, he illustrates his thoughts on the scene: "a little arrangement may make all the difference". Humourously describing his forthcoming sketching tour to the continent: "I expect to make a few Nice pictures - only if I do any views of Como I do hope they wont go making Como lithographs of them". With Mannings original sketch suggestion, the corresponding decorative envelope, and 2 small sketches (laid down).
