[QUEEN VICTORIA (1819-1901) AND PRINCE ALBERT (1819-1861)]
A large quantity of autograph letters from various persons connected with the Royal household, many to Sir Theodore Martin. Concerning Sir Martin's biographys: "Life of the Prince Consort" and "Queen Victoria as I knew her". A particularly interesting letter from Mr H. Sahl to Sir Martin (Osborne House, 18 January 1880) illustrates a "plan of the suite of apartments at Windsor Castle" where Albert retired to when he became ill before his death. He explains the sketch and recalls the Prince saying "this is the room in which George IV and William IV died" when explaining the layout. With others.
