The case with breakarch hood with brass finials to a fret-work cresting, blind fret carving to the arch below, outset brass capped fluted columns to the front angles and glazed panels to the sides, the trunk door with onion arch top and chequer inlay, later lenticle, with fluted three-quarter length chamfered angles to the sides and blind fret carving above, the plinth with moulded panelling and central conch shell inlay, raised on a stepped skirting, the brass cut-out dial with later arch, the latter applied with a silvered disc engraved with a radiant moon face, with old man mask and foliate spandrels to the silvered chapter ring with engraved leaf half quarter hour markers and elaborate leaf half hour markers, signed Ben Fieldhouse Leominster, the matted centre with engraving around the date aperture and to the centre of the silvered sunken subsidiary seconds ring, ringed winding holes, later hands, with later seatboard to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, striking the hour on bell to the top and with pull wind quarter repeat on two further nested bells; dial and movement associated to case, basically second quarter 18th century, case last quarter 18th century
