Lot Essay

The Graeme family of Orchill, Perthshire, were descendants of the Earls of Montrose, and the sitter, Charles Graeme was the third son of David Graeme of Orchill and his second wife the Hon. Louisa Nairne, seventh daughter of William, second Lord Nairne, and his wife Margaret.
