signed on the compass card Verfertigt von David Beringer, with blued-iron needle and brass cap, the inner faces with delicately coloured printed paper cards, with string gnomon adjustable for latitudes 36-56 in increments of 2, the upper face pasted with a label printed with a list of continental cities and towns, but also including Philadelphia, Newyork and one other American city (paper with old abrasions and some dirt) -- 3in.
